Description

This program prepares you for entry-level positions in veterinary medicine as veterinary assistants. The curriculum covers all areas of the veterinary clinic, helping you build the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to enter the field with confidence. You will learn: Animal restraint and handling, client communication, exam room support, basic nursing skills, laboratory sample collection, sterile technique and surgical preparation. Moreover, you gain experience in a real clinical environment, which helps you understand how veterinary teams work together.

It is also an excellent stepping stone if you are interested in advancing your career in veterinary medicine. As a NAVTA-approved program, students are eligible to sit for the national examination to earn the designation of “Approved Veterinary Assistant” (AVA).

Classes meet on Mondays and Thursdays. There is a morning class from 9am-12pm or an evening option from 5pm-8pm. Class runs from September 7, 2026 through April 21, 2027.
